CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The City of Citrus Heights is excited to welcome community members and neighbors to Trailblaze: a grand opening celebration of the Arcade Cripple Creek Trail.

On May 5, residents, community members and visiting guests are invited to explore the trail on their own adventure. The event will consist of two parts; attend one or both.

Join city representatives and trail partners for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community walk to kick off the grand opening at 9:30 a.m. May 5.  There will be a short ceremony and ribbon-cutting presentation, and then all guests will be invited to walk 1.6 miles of the trail to the celebration at C-Bar-C Park. The walk is expected to take approximately 30 minutes. Guests can walk, bike or run the distance. A shuttle will be provided at C-Bar-C Park for guests who attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and community walk.

The 9:30 a.m. starting location is at Tempo Park, 13125 Fair Oaks Blvd. in Citrus Heights. The ending location is C-Bar-C Park, 8275 Oak Ave, Citrus Heights (a shuttle will be provided for those who leave cars at Tempo Park)

The trail-opening community celebration at 10:30 a.m. May 5 includes food trucks and activities for the whole family. The Arcade Cripple Creek Trail has many connecting points to visit; take a short 15-minute trail walk from C-Bar-C Park to a bridge along the trail. This is a great option for families and children.
