What Should Transit Look Like in the Future in Citrus Heights?

Citrus Heights, CA  |  By City of Citrus Heights

Citrus Heights, CA (MPG) - Have ideas on how to improve transit service in Citrus Heights? The City, in conjunction with Sacramento Regional Transit District, is developing a comprehensive transit plan to analyze connections to local, regional and other transit services, as well as analyze the current and future transit needs throughout the City.

The Citrus Heights Comprehensive Transit Plan will help the City wisely invest in a transit service that meets the needs of current and future Citrus Heights residents. The plan will consider traditional and emerging mobility options and different operational models.

Community members are invited to provide input about current challenges, opportunities for improvements, and proposed enhancements to transit service in Citrus Heights through an online community questionnaire beginning on Wednesday, September 6. Visit www.citrusheightstransitplan.com  to provide comments through October 15, 2017.

“Transit is a vital mode of transportation for our Citrus Heights community”, said Mayor Jeff Slowey. “We are looking for ways to improve service and access to get our residents to their jobs as well as key destinations throughout the City.”

The community is also invited to stop by for a coffee charge before their morning commute on Wednesday, September 13. Drop by the Arcadia Drive and Greenback Lane Sac RT Bus stop to learn more about the plan, provide input, and enter to win a commuter fun pack, including a monthly SacRT pass or other prizes.

Questions about the online community questionnaire and the project can be directed to the project manager, Mary Poole, with the City of Citrus Heights, at: mpoole@citrusheights.net
