Citrus Heights Police Commander Daman Christensen Retires

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - After an exemplary career in public safety in California over the last 29 years, Citrus Heights Police Commander Daman Christensen retired from service on Friday, July 6,
2018. Commander Christensen’s last day at CHPD was celebrated with an official send-off by city and police department staff, along with City Manager Christopher W. Boyd, who originally hired Commander Christensen in March of 2006, and Chief of Police Ronald Lawrence, who presented him with a retirement badge.
Commander Christensen’s career in law enforcement began on August 2, 1989, where he was originally hired as a deputy sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office (LASO). During his 17 year tenure with LASO, Christensen promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
On March 10, 2006, Christensen was hired as a Police Lieutenant with the Citrus Heights Police Department and served as one of the first Patrol Watch Commanders during the department’s inaugural years. In this capacity, Christensen worked a variety of assignments, including Investigations and Patrol.
On June 14, 2012, Christensen promoted to an executive position with CHPD and was appointed to the position of Police Commander. During his tenure as a Police Commander, Christensen oversaw the command of both the Investigative Services Division as well as the Patrol Services Division.
During his exemplary career, Commander Christensen was instrumental in helping to develop the Citrus Heights Police Department into what it has become today as the premier police department in the region. Through his leadership and dedication to CHPD he has helped to develop others who continue to make a huge difference in our community.
