New Pet Licensing for Citrus Heights

Apr 07, 2017 12:00AM ● By Courtesy of City of Citrus Heights

Citrus Heights residents no longer need to purchase licenses from Sacramento County. They can purchase a City License with new licensing partner, PetData from Texas.

Citrus Heights Animal Services and PetData have licensed over 200 dogs in 30 days. City tags are being issued for renewals – new bone shaped tags for dogs and square tags for cats.  Once the new City tag is received, Citrus Heights pet owners may dispose of old Sacramento County tags in the recycle bin.  This new City licensing means better service and saves tax payers money.

Renewal notices were mailed by PetData in March and will continue to be sent monthly and residents can simply mail their payment with their renewal notice or license online!

First time licensing? License online at PetData.com, download and mail in a form, or license in person at City Hall!  All that is needed to license a pet is a completed application, a current rabies certificate and, if your pet is altered, a copy of the surgery certificate with your payment!

New pricing options are also available!  Senior discounts are now available for Pet owners 62 years and older!  We also offer a new Lifetime Cat licensing option for altered and microchipped cats! Proof of microchip, rabies and spay/neuter certificate are required and rabies certificates are to be submitted when revaccinated, either annually or every three years.
