CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The Citrus Heights City Council issued a proclamation recognizing the achievements of local student Hogan Weaver on and off the baseball field. The Council declared his birthday, February 25, Hogan Weaver Day in Citrus Heights.

Councilmember Bret Daniels said Weaver “enjoyed a phenomenal varsity baseball career at San Juan High School,” finishing his varsity baseball career with a 481 batting average, including batting 559 with eight homeruns in his senior year. Councilmember Daniels said that usually players are either great hitters or great pitchers, “it’s hard to find people who are both, but Hogan is.… Hogan Weaver not only dominated his opponents at the plate but also from the pitcher’s mound, with a 1.77 earned run average.”

Weaver graduated with a 3.5 GPA, served as an umpire for baseball camps, and mentored younger players in little league. Councilmember Daniels said, “Hogan Weaver’s achievements have earned him multiple scholarships… as he heads to Sonoma State College for what is bound to be another amazing baseball adventure.”
