Metro Fire Investigates Suspicious Overnight Fire

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA – Shortly after 12:30 am on October 28, 2020 Metro Fire responded to a fire in a commercial building in the 8200 block of Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights.  The most extensive fire damage occurred to the exterior of the building, however, there was some extension to the interior.  The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries have been reported.

Based on observations by firefighters at the scene, Metro Fire’s on duty Arson Investigator responded as well as the Citrus Heights Police Department. Upon arrival, the Arson Investigator found the cause of this fire to be suspicious, based on his investigation at the origin of the incident.

A photo of a person of interest at the exterior of the building and two exterior photos of the building are attached; we request anyone who may have been in the area of the incident (Auburn Blvd between Walnut Drive and Twin Oaks Boulevard) near the time of the incident to review these photos and call the Metro Fire Arson Tip Line at (916) 859-3775 if they can assist identifying the person in the photograph or have any other information regarding this fire.
