CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The Citrus Heights Police Activities League (CHPAL) is a non-profit charitable youth organization established in 2010 to encourage positive interaction between police and our community’s youth. Our mission of mentoring and influencing youth in and around Citrus Heights is accomplished through recreational activities and outreach events.  Officers volunteer their time to be positive role models and connect with kids through these events while educating them on drug and gang awareness. In a safe environment, children develop new friendships, discover new hobbies, improve life skills, learn the importance of making smart choices and being leaders.

In support of the CHPAL Program, we would like to partner with you.  On Thursday, December 10, 2020, between 4-7 pm, we are hosting “Miracle on Fountain Square Drive” at the Citrus Heights Police Department.  This will be a large family-friendly event where families will weave through 30 brightly lit themed Christmas trees decorated by members of our department and community.  We will shine our patrol vehicle lights; have a machine to blow snow flurries; play holiday music; and have characters throughout the “forest” including Santa Claus, Grinch, and the Conductor from the Polar Express.  We will also be collecting canned food and toy donations to benefit families in need. In October, we hosted a similar event for Halloween attended by an estimated 2,000 people!

The key to this event’s success lies with generous sponsorships from local businesses and community members like you.  We are raising funds to purchase trees, decorations, lights, and inflatables.  Would you consider making a donation to this special event?  Sponsors will be highlighted in our social media and at the event.  Trees will later be donated to children and their families who have been identified as being in particular need this year.  All donations deductible and any additional funds will be used towards future youth-centered events.

This year has been quite challenging for everyone, especially youth.  With your help, we want to close it out with holiday cheer that’s never been seen before.  Today’s children will be tomorrow’s leaders, business owners, and police officers.  We are grateful to partner with you in making a difference.  Also, please follow us on social media at Citrus Heights Youth and Family Services.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact our Police Activities League Coordinator, Cheyenne Sardon, at (916) 727-4820 or Sgt. Janet Schaefer at (916) 727-5576. Thank you, in advance, for your ongoing support of the Citrus Heights Police Activities League program.
