Citrus Heights Speed Limits Updated

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Updated speed limits have been posted on five roadway segments in Citrus Heights, effective December 14, 2020. These updates bring the posted speed limits into compliance with California Vehicle Code requirements, allowing our Police Department the ability to better enforce speeding and increase roadway safety. In the four areas where speed limits are increasing, the City Engineer has recommend the lowest speed limits allowed by law.

Antelope Rd. From I-80 to Auburn Blvd: Existing Speed Limit (MPG) 40; Measured 85th % Speed (MPG) 51; Proposed Speed Limit (MPG) 45; Change (MPG) +5.

Antelope Rd. From Auburn Blvd to Sunrise Blvd: Existing Speed Limit (MPG) 40; Measured 85th % Speed (MPG) 50; Proposed Speed Limit (MPG) 45; Change (MPG) +5.

Fountain Square Dr. from Greenback Ln. to Stock Ranch Rd: Existing Speed Limit (MPG) 30; Measured 85th % Speed (MPG) 30; Proposed Speed Limit (MPG) 25; Change (MPG) -5.

Old Auburn Rd. from Fair Oaks Blvd. to Northeastern City Limits: Existing Speed Limit (MPG) 35; Measured 85th % Speed (MPG) 43; Proposed Speed Limit (MPG) 40; Change (MPG) +5.

Sunrise Blvd. from Antelope Rd. to Northern City Limits: Existing Speed Limit (MPG) 40; Measured 85th % Speed (MPG) 49; Proposed Speed Limit (MPG) 45; Change (MPG) +5.

These speed limit updates were approved by City Council on October 22, 2020.
