CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Chocolate chip cookie lovers in Citrus Heights won’t have long to wait as a new Crumbl Cookies expects to be open at 6920 Auburn Boulevard in front of Costco and Walmart this fall.

“A lease has been signed, and architectural plans have been ordered,” said Chris Floyd, operating partner for the upcoming 1,228 square-foot Citrus Heights store. Floyd corrected an earlier published news account which quoted a Crumbl spokesperson that the store intended to be open in early July.

The new Crumbl Cookies will open in a newly constructed commercial building between an AT&T store and a haircut shop.

“I’m excited to be bringing Crumbl Cookies to Citrus Heights,” Floyd said. Floyd said he was personally attracted to Crumbl’s business model, each store’s high level of cleanliness and how cookies are artfully presented as the customer selects them.

Floyd said he expects to hire between 30 to 40 people for the new Citrus Heights store which will include front counter, bakers, dough ballers and cookie dressers. He will also be looking to hire shift leads before the store opens.

Complete training will be provided, and a hiring website will launch closer to the store’s likely opening, he said.

The size and weight of a typical Crumbl cookie is around 5.5 to 6 ounces, a half-pound in individual weight, and measure 4 to 4.5 inches in diameter, Floyd said.

Hundreds of pounds of cookie dough are mixed, balled by crew members and then baked fresh. Customers will be able observe that complete process as they place and pick up their orders, Floyd said.

The cost for a single Crumbl cookie is $4 with a 4-pack box selling for $14.25 at Crumbl’s newly-opened Folsom store.

Fresh cookies are packed in Crumbl’s distinctive pink boxes which are designed to fit each Crumbl cookie side-by-side, whether in a 4-pack, 6-pack, or 12-pack box.

The family business, based in Logan, Utah, launched in 2017. The company has expanded to over 200 bakeries in 32 states nationwide, making it the fastest-growing cookie company in the nation.

Crumbl (crumblcookies.com), serves over 120 specialty flavors which rotate weekly, including circus animal and caramel cheesecake, plus constant classics like milk chocolate chip and chilled sugar.

Customers will be encouraged to download the Crumbl app to learn which new cookie flavors will be offered in rotation each week. Each locally-owned Crumbl store makes active use of social media which encourages customers to discover new favorites each Sunday, and to keep coming back, Floyd said.

Crumbl’s corporate office recently announced the opening of its 200th store nationwide, with the closest northern California stores being in Roseville, Elk Grove and Folsom which opened June 24th in the Folsom Point Shopping Center on 195 Placerville Road. An additional store in Rancho Cordova is also planned, Floyd said.
