CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Last week, an arrest warrant for James Michael Sawyers was issued by the Sacramento County Superior Court in the amount of $100,000 for two Citrus Heights robberies.

Following several weeks of thorough investigation, and in collaboration with the Roseville Police Department, 45-year-old James Michael Sawyers was arrested on March 8th for committing a robbery in the City of Roseville and booked into the Placer County jail on their robbery charge, as well as additional weapons and drug charges.

Citrus Heights Detectives were simultaneously investigating Sawyers for two additional robberies in Citrus Heights, in which he was positively identified for each. Sawyers was responsible for the robberies at the Lowe’s home improvement store in the 7800 block of Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights on Feb 21, 2022 and for the same crime a day later, Feb. 22, 2022, at a Walmart store in the 7000 block of Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights. In both robberies, Sawyers used a demand note which stated he had a firearm in his possession.

On March 7, 2022, Citrus Heights Police Detectives became aware that a subject matching Sawyers’ description committed a robbery at a Walmart in the City of Roseville’s jurisdiction. Roseville Police identified Sawyers following that crime, and both Department’s investigators worked together to conduct surveillance of the suspect leading to his eventual arrest.
