CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The California Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a motorcyclist following a Friday morning accident in Citrus Heights.

A report from the CHP states the motorcyclist struck the wall on the westbound Antelope Road on-ramp to westbound Interstate 80. The accident took place near the end of the morning commute, around 9:00 AM.

Authorities contacted the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office following the accident. The motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene. The Citrus Heights Police Department later issued alerts through social media, advising motorists and others about road closures at the scene of the accident.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation and the identity of the victim has not been released. There were no other injuries.
