CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Sayonara Center had a busy summer full of activities for their 1st-12th grade students.
More than fifty students participated in summer camps, day trips, park days, along with many other activities. Their summer began with an end of school year block party. Students, families, and neighbors played games, kept cool with water inflatables, and a BBQ to celebrate all their hard work the previous nine months.
A few days later 15 middle school students and Center staff went to Santa Cruz for four days and three nights. There the students competed against other teams in recreation, had all their meals together, heard from speakers, played at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and visited the beach.
Elementary students participated in swim lessons, a five-day day camp at Life Community Center and a swim party hosted by the Citrus Heights Police Activities League (PAL) at Rusch Park.
The Center’s high school students were just as busy with a group learning to fish, a visit to Impact Axe in Rocklin, and a trip to Pismo Beach for their first time for a 4-day and 3-night camp.
The Center hosted a couple of block parties with a full dinner, water inflatables, games, and a basketball tournament.
Summer is coming to an end. Back-to-School registration providing all students with a new backpack and school supplies is their final event before the Center reopens for five days a week after school begins.
