Shooting Investigation on Crux Drive
Sep 28, 2022 12:00AM ● By CHPD News ReleaseCITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - On September 26, 2022, just after 3:30 AM, Citrus Heights Police dispatchers received a 911 call advising of shots fired in the 6900 block of Crux Drive. The reporting party was passing by a residence located on Crux Drive when they heard three gunshots. Our officers arrived on scene and quickly established a perimeter around the residence where the gunshots were believed to have originated.
During our investigation, several people were observed coming and going from the residence and were contacted as part of our investigation. As a result, three arrests were made, and one firearm was seized. The suspects arrested were 21-year-old, Leroy Vonbehren of North Highlands for being a felon in possession of a firearm, 28-year-old, Anthony Gomez of Sacramento for an outstanding warrant related to possession of controlled substances, and 31-year-old, Aaron Bucher of Citrus Heights for outstanding domestic violence related charges.
Out of an abundance of caution, our SWAT team was utilized to make entry and ensure there were no additional occupants inside the home. During this incident, our staff contacted a nearby Montessori school to suggest they close the school for the day to ensure their safety and prevent concerns from parents and students. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
