Citrus Heights ALS Walk Nets over $5,000

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Husband and wife Dave and Elizabeth Marinoble, owners of Marinoble’s Martial Arts at 7524 Walnut Drive in Citrus Heights want to thank the over 100 people who came out Saturday, Sept. 17th to support their local Walk to Defeat ALS® event at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights.
Together, they were able to raise over $5,000 to help defeat ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
Dave Marinoble received his own diagnosis of ALS earlier this year. A recent news article in the Citrus Heights Messenger recognized the Marinoble’s Martial Arts at 7524 Walnut Drive, in Citrus Heights which has spent over 25 years training champions.
“Our team, Marinoble’s Contenders for Health, raised over $5,000 to help defeat ALS,” said Elizabeth Marinoble.
She especially thanked her daughter Adryana Owen who worked with the ALS Sacramento Chapter office in Citrus Heights to organize and coordinate the local event which was held in conjunction with the chapter’s own walk in Elk Grove.
“We’re very grateful to our sponsor, Eternal Water, all who read the article in the Messenger, and all who came out to support and participate in our event,” Marinoble said.
While, individual donations were still being tallied, said Elizabeth Marinoble as online ALS walk donations can still be received through their designated event at alssac.org
ALS Sacramento Chapter office in Citrus Heights at 5701 Sunrise Boulevard in Citrus Heights is open daily to the public from 9 am to 5 pm for walk in donations or those who may need information or assistance with a new diagnosis.
