SMP Celebrates New Location at Annual Open House
CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The annual ‘Miracle at Sunrise MarketPlace’ open house took place on November 30, at the new home of the Sunrise MarketPlace at 8095 Greenback Lane on the corner of Fair Oaks Blvd and Greenback Lane.
Every December (save a break during Covid) Sunrise MarketPlace (SMP) staff take this opportunity to connect with their many ‘constituents’ – the businesses, property owners, City staff, police department, vendors, media and partner organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce. This open house was also used to celebrate their grand opening with a ribbon-cutting of the much more spacious, event-friendly location than the previous office inside the Sunrise Mall.
Upon entering, it was obvious that SMP Director Kathilynn Carpenter, Marketing Director Lisa Cordell, Marketing Assistant Mikhaila Freas and others had spent many hours preparing every detail of the afternoon to help visitors, following a long work week, feel welcome and pampered. From the decorations which set the mood, extensive spread of elegant d’oeuvres and desserts, beverages, plus a special gift for all.
To top off the experience, a photo opportunity was set up for guests to pose with a seven-year veteran Santa, ‘Santa Guy’.
It might be the best kept secret that besides stores and services available to Citrus Heights residents and visitors from outside the community, information on special events and entertainment for family members of all ages can be found at one place. Under ‘Upcoming Events’ on the SMP website, events coming up for the holidays include Funtopia, Feelin’ Frosty Makers Market, and Photos with Santa in the Sunrise Mall from November 18 to December 24. And listings for every store and service, including military recruiters, can be found under ‘Business Directory.’
According to its website, “Sunrise MarketPlace encompasses a collection of over 400 stores, restaurants and services in the Sunrise/Greenback business corridor allowing for the convenience of one stop shopping.”
Their directory includes 20 categories from department and discount stores, home improvement, food, personal services, health, recreation and entertainment throughout Citrus Heights.
The website lists 15 shopping centers including Sunrise Mall, Citrus Town Center, Birdcage Center, and Greenfaire Village where SMP is located, next to Sacramento Black Rife. This corridor certainly provides venues for one stop shopping.
