CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Residents, community members, and neighbors are invited to the annual Holiday Tree Lighting at City Hall on Wednesday, December 6! The event will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Citrus Heights City Hall, 6360 Fountain Square Dr. Join Citrus Heights City Council, staff, and even Santa Claus for an evening of holiday cheer! Every year, we welcome guests of all ages to enjoy a festive celebration featuring pictures with Santa, hot cocoa and cookies, train rides around City Hall, and much more. This event features the Citrus Heights tradition of lighting our outdoor tree in festive colors to enjoy for the holiday season. Bring your family, invite your neighbors, and kick off the holiday season with the City of Citrus Heights.

The City of Citrus Heights will host the Best Lights in Citrus Heights contest for its 5th year! The Best Lights in Citrus Heights contest celebrates the holiday spirit of our residents as they decorate for the season. Nominations for homes, including apartments, duplexes, and all other residences with the best décor, will open on November 28 and close on December 15. Voting will open December 16th through December 19th, with winners being awarded soon after! Stay tuned for more information on how to nominate your neighbors and how to vote by following us on Instagram and Facebook.

Award Categories include:

Griswold: Brightest display of shining lights; Holiday Village: Best multi-house displays on the same street/neighborhood; Hollywood Holidays: Best use of characters (Frosty, Santa, Rudolph, Buddy the Elf, etc.); Outdoor Holiday Tree: Best decorated tree in a yard or outdoor space; Jingle All The Way: Best use of music and/or animation; Jack Frost: Chilliest display of icicles and white lights; Santa's Favorite: Best appearance or theme, best overall

Vote for your favorite decorations from December 16th to December 19th at midnight.
