New HomeGoods Store Coming to Birdcage

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - HomeGoods, a major home décor retailer is planning to open in the Marketplace at Birdcage in Citrus Heights in 2024.

The names of HomeGoods, and two other new businesses, Teriyaki Madness and Flawless Fix have been added to leasing materials by Gerrity Properties for Marketplace at Birdcage, a retail center along Sunrise Boulevard in Citrus Heights as coming soon.

HomeGoods sells items such as furniture, rugs, bedding and storage accessories. The chain’s website lists seven other locations in the greater Sacramento area. A marketing representative from HomeGoods did not respond to an email request for comment.

A separate 6,729-square-foot space, labeled “6130B,” is identified in leasing materials just behind HomeGoods, next door to Cost Plus World Market where a grove of tall trees now stands.

Broker Chris Campbell of the Gerrity Company did not respond to a telephone or email request for comment concerning the pending three openings listed in Gerrity’s leasing materials.

A new interior wall separates the former vacant Starbucks coffee shop at 6121 Birdcage Center facing Sunrise Boulevard from its adjacent neighbor, Barnes and Noble Booksellers.

In August, the Business Journal confirmed that restaurant chain Teriyaki Madness, an Asian fast-casual restaurant chain based in Denver would open in the Citrus Heights retail center at 6121 Birdcage Center next to Noodles and Company, with a projected opening date in the second quarter of 2024.

Another new business, doing business as Flawless Fix is listed to fill suites B-111-112 just behind Bath and Body Works. No opening date has been set for Flawless Fix.

In a statement to the Business Journal, HomeGoods spokesperson Arielle Abramek confirmed a Citrus Heights store “will open in the future,” as did Kathilynn Carpenter, executive director of Sunrise MarketPlace in an email.

HomeGoods is one of the retail chains owned by Framingham, Massachusetts-based The TJX Companies Inc.

Marketplace at Birdcage, built in 1975, is anchored by businesses such as Walmart Neighborhood Market, Best Buy, Old Navy, Michaels, Barnes & Noble and Chuze Fitness. The center spans more than 325,000 square feet, according to leasing materials.
