CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - On Saturdays from March 2 to 23, Junior Varsity Coach Kari Masters and many players from the Bella Vista Girls basketball teams coached local kids aged 4 to 9 at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights through the Sunrise Park district. It was an extremely successful program. Boys and girls were instructed on the fundamentals of basketball while the high school players learned coaching and leadership skills under the direction of Coach Kari, who is a well-known, accomplished and experienced local basketball coach of many years.

Volunteers show the youngsters how to dribble.
Parent Brittany Woodward had this to say about the program, “My daughter was so excited to go back every week and learn new basketball skills and play games with her coaches. She is already signed up for the next session!” Another parent, Tanaiya Crisp, said, “I first want to say thank you for making it affordable for families in the area, in this economy it means the most. Secondly and most importantly, I want to say thank you again to Kari Masters and the girls. They were phenomenal and kept kids engaged. I can’t wait to come back for the next session.”

The clinic will run again at Rusch Park on Saturdays from July 20 to August 10, and there will also be a basketball league on Saturdays from May 18 to June 29, ages 4 to 9 for both boys and girls. Notably, 70% of the profits go to the Girls Bella Vista basketball program, to help pay for needed supplies, buses to away games, etc.

Little ones are getting a head start on their basketball skills.
Please consider registering your child. Not only will you be helping local high school players, but your basketball player will learn valuable playing skills while having fun!
