CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The City of Citrus Heights is excited to bring back the Stars and Stripes Celebration for its second year after the success of its inaugural celebration last year.

The Stars and Stripes Celebration, a patriotic, family-friendly event and fireworks show, will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 29 at Van Maren Park, 6601 Thalia Way. Stars and Stripes brings the Citrus Heights community together to celebrate the country’s patriotism and city pride.

This Independence Day celebration will feature live music, food trucks and a kids’ zone. This year rocking out on the Republic Services Stage will be Pop Fiction, a Northern California’s premier party band, with dance hits, sing-alongs and favorites from the 1970s to 2000s.

Featured food trucks include SanTacos, Daisy’s Desserts and Hefty Gyros.

The kids’ zone, hosted by two community partners, Sunrise Recreation and Parks District and Citrus Heights Police Activities League, will provide family fun such as face painting and yard games.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit and enjoy the music at Van Maren Park. At 9:45 p.m., a festive fireworks show will illuminate the sky to close out the celebration.
