The event includes live music, food and family-friendly activities, all culminating in a spectacular firework show at 9:45 p.m.
“This event is a culmination of the city's efforts to honor our city’s roots and celebrate our country’s independence,” said Citrus Heights Mayor Bret Daniels. “We look forward to seeing friends, families and neighbors at this year’s Stars & Stripes Celebration."
Festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. June 29, with gates opening an hour earlier at 5 p.m., for those eager to secure the perfect spot on the lawn. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best red, white, and blue attire to show their patriotic spirit.
A highlight will be a performance by Pop Fiction, who will entertain the crowd with energetic tunes from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the Kids’ Zone, hosted by Sunrise Recreation and Parks District and Citrus Heights Police Activities League, will offer face painting, martial arts demo, yard games and other activities until 8:30 p.m.
Food lovers will not be disappointed, as 11 food vendors will be on-site offering a variety of treats. From savory meals to sweet delights, there will be something to satisfy everyone.
Guests can also bring small ice chests and coolers to keep their refreshments chilled, as well as small personal umbrellas for shade. Dog owners can also bring their furry friends but should be mindful of the large crowds and fireworks, which might not be suitable for all pets.
“It’s really all about the community getting together,” said communication officer Marisa Brown.
So, grab your blankets, gather your loved ones, and head to Van Maren Park at 6601 Thalia Way for a night of celebration and community spirit.
