Jul 24, 2024 04:07PM ● By Ornella RossiCITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - On Tuesday, Aug. 6, area communities will come together to participate in National Night Out, an annual initiative aimed at fostering police-community partnerships and enhancing neighborhood solidarity.
National Night Out, established to promote safer and more cohesive neighborhoods, encourages residents to engage with local law enforcement and each other. The event serves as a platform for neighbors to build relationships, discuss safety concerns and collectively work toward creating vibrant and caring communities.
In Citrus Heights, various neighborhoods will host block parties, cookouts and other social gatherings to celebrate the spirit of unity and collaboration. These grassroots events are designed to strengthen community bonds and also to raise awareness about crime prevention and public safety.
“Every year, neighbors nationwide gather on National Night Out to build community with one another and local law enforcement. Citrus Heights Police Department is excited to visit local community events throughout our city again this year to continue building our community-police partnership,” said Citrus Heights Police Chief Alex Turcotte. “National Night Out gives us the opportunity to connect with residents, neighborhood leaders and families, allowing us to establish a safe and welcoming city for all.”
