The Sacramento Public Library is hosting a series of Author Talks with local author and outdoor enthusiast Ashley Shult Langdon on her journey to publishing her first book. Copies of the book available for purchase. Free and open to all. 

The Bookery (Saturday, Sept. 28 at 3pm. 326 Main St, Placerville, CA)

This family friendly author event will be in the lively backyard of this Placerville bookstore. Refreshments and copies of the book available. Free and open to all.

Beers Books (Thursday, Oct. 3 at 5pm. 712 R St, Sacramento, CA)

Looking to elevate Mildly Scenic beyond a basic trail guide, Langdon collaborated with Greg Traverso, graphic designer and pop artist, who is the mastermind behind the book's clever cover design. Join the two in conversation as they discuss the process of designing a book from scratch, the use of color to tell a story, and inspiration from the river landscape. Free and open to all.

East Village Bookshop (Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7pm. 3604 McKinley Blvd, Sacramento, CA) 

Join us in conversation with Ashley Shult Langdon, as she takes you behind the scenes in the making of her book with collaborator/designer Greg Traverso, plus Geography Professor Mathew Schmidtlein (Sac State's Geography Department Chair) and Geography Professor Anna Patterson.
