HomeGoods, now open to the public, is known for its affordability and wide range of items.

 

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Eager customers lined up early outside the new HomeGoods store in the Market Place at Birdcage, at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 24 to celebrate its grand opening and to buy opening-day specials, just in time to kick off the holiday shopping season.

HomeGoods at 6130 Birdcage Center Drive opened its doors to customers after almost a year of construction. The national chain, which sells a variety of household wares, announced last December that it would be joining the Market Place at Birdcage, according to CBRE leasing documents. Official signage for the storefront was installed in mid-August.

The Framingham, Massachusetts-based retailer HomeGoods sells items such as home décor, furniture, rugs, kitchenware, bedding and storage accessories at discounted prices. Its nearest stores are in Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville and Arden-Arcade. The parent company of HomeGoods, TJX Companies, also owns the retail brands of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Sierra and HomeSense.

The 25,000 square-foot retailer shares frontage with Best Buy and Michaels. Previously, the building was home to Stein Mart.

A separate 6,729-square-foot space, labeled “6130B” in leasing materials, is situated just behind the newly opened HomeGoods, next door to Cost Plus World Market where a grove of tall trees stands. This space has yet to be leased, according to CBRE leasing materials.

In addition to Michaels and Best Buy, Home Goods joins anchor tenants Walmart Neighborhood Market, Barnes and Noble, Old Navy and Chuze Fitness, among other national chains, with a retail presence in the Marketplace at Birdcage.
