JC Penney Burglary Investigation
Dec 18, 2024 03:14PM ● By MPG StaffCITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Authorities are investigating a burglary that took place early Sunday morning Dec.15, at the JC Penney store in Sunrise Mall.
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, officers were dispatched to the store at approximately 7:45 a.m. Dec. 15 after a Sunrise Mall security guard reported a break-in. Upon arrival, officers conducted a search of the store but did not locate any suspects.
Investigators discovered that a man used a Chevrolet Silverado to drive through the store’s entrance doors before making his way to the jewelry section. The suspect allegedly took an undisclosed amount of jewelry before leaving the scene in the same vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that the Chevrolet Silverado used in the burglary had been stolen from the Roseville Auto Mall prior to the incident. Authorities located the vehicle just outside Citrus Heights and it is currently being processed by crime scene investigators.
