CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce ended 2024 with a move to a new office in the Greenfair Plaza at 8091 Greenback Lane, Suite F, near the corner of Fair Oaks and Sunrise Boulevard, where the Chamber has signed a three-year lease.

“We're thrilled to share that the chamber has moved to better serve our amazing community,” said Sheri Merrick, its executive director.

Merrick provided a brief tour of the new space, where unpacking continued and the scent of fresh bright orange paint still filled the air.

A grand opening ceremony is tentatively scheduled for later this month, according to Renee Larscheid, the chamber’s membership services and office administrator.

The new chamber office is situated between the Adventure Oak Learning Center and Tague Band Instrument Services. The nearby offices of Sunrise MarketPlace (SMP) at 8095 Greenback Lane, Suite D are just around the corner within Greenfair Plaza, which is also home to Sacramento Black Rifle and the Citrus Heights Pet Hospital.

“I especially want to thank Kathilynn Carpenter, executive director of Sunrise MarketPlace (SMP) for her assistance in helping the chamber find this space,” Larscheid said. “It’s great to be next door neighbors, and I look forward to collaborating with SMP as we move forward.”

The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce was previously located at 7625 Sunrise Blvd. The move to its new location in Greenfair Plaza, near the busy corner of Greenback Lane and Fair Oaks Boulevard, within the Sunrise MarketPlace is a decidedly strategic move, Merrick said.

“We were set back off the road in our former location, behind another building, on the second floor, with no elevator where no one could find us,” Merrick said.

The recent relocation will better help the chamber be able to promote the city as more “business-friendly” and make it easier to engage with the chamber, according to the chamber officials.

The chamber will make use of Sunrise MarketPlace’s larger conference space to host special events, Merrick said. She looks forward to a successful 2025 and outlines some of the steps that the chamber is actively taking to provide value for its current members while attracting other businesses to join.

“We closed the year with 84 new chamber members and have a goal of 125 in 2025,” Merrick said. “At the end of August 2024, a total of 57 new businesses had joined the Chamber of Commerce, as compared to 17 new members joining in 2023.”

The chamber also completely revamped its website for the first time, adding multiple new features that describe upcoming special events, community partners and available business resources, she said.

On Sept. 11, the Citrus Heights City Council unanimously approved a $25,000 grant to be awarded to the Chamber of Commerce, $8,000 of which was used for the recent office relocation.

A new series of special chamber events also opens in January, Merrick said. Information about the Access Citrus Heights Luncheon, an exclusive event designed for business professionals who want to connect with the key leaders and decision-makers in the community, is posted on the chamber website. The event will allow business leaders to engage directly with those who influence the policies and decisions that could impact their business.

Merrick also wished to personally thank all those who assisted the chamber in its recent location, including Dylan Dudley, All American Haulin’ Demos, Dumps and Junk Removal, McElroy’s Repair, All State Canine Development, Amanda Camacho and Veldtech.
