CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Six local Dutch Bros stores will collect donations for the Sunrise Christian Food Ministry (SCFM) for the seventh year during their ‘Dutch Luv’ event on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Over the last seven years, the owner of these six locations has donated $40,000 from this event. 

In the past, the Dutch Bros management team has arrived at the food closet at 5901 San Juan Ave. for a day of service ahead of Valentine’s Day. This year, the workday will be on Valentine’s Day.

In addition to its mission of speed, quality and service, Dutch Bros is committed to giving back to the communities it serves. Through its Dutch Bros Foundation and local franchisees, the company donates several million dollars to causes across the country each year.

A spokesperson for Dutch Bros said in an email, “Giving back to the communities we serve is part of who we’ve always been. We’re stoked to kick off this year with our 18th annual Dutch Luv Day. We’re so thankful for our crews and customers who show up to make a difference, together.”

April Jacek, Sunrise Christian Food Ministry Director of Operations said in an interview, “We expect this year to be the biggest yet. Our food closet and ministry are beyond grateful for the continued support of our local Dutch Bros.  The donations we receive each year for Dutch Luv Day helps to feed over 30,000 families per year.”

On average, a $1 donation helps provide three meals.

“We also love that the Dutch Bros team comes out each year to serve our community. They stand behind their commitment to give back,” Jacek said.

Dutch Bros are at 7853 Lichen Drive, Citrus Heights; 715 Sunrise Ave., Roseville at the Citrus Heights border; and 8552 Madison Ave., Fair Oaks.
