SACRAMENTO AREA, CA (MPG) – Caltrans is alerting motorists of an upcoming 79-hour closure as part of the ongoing $280 million Interstate 80 (I-80) and U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) Pavement Rehabilitation Project in Yolo County.

A full freeway closure is scheduled on eastbound U.S. Highway 50 from the Yolo I-80/US 50 connector ramp to Jefferson Boulevard in West Sacramento from 9 p.m. Friday, June 13 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 17.

The department urges motorists to plan ahead, expect delays and use the designated, signed detour routes (see map below). The closures include an A’s night game Monday, June 16 against the Houston Astros at Sutter Health Park. Fans coming from eastbound I-80 will stay on eastbound I-80 to southbound I-5 to westbound US 50 to access the ballpark. Please allow for additional travel time on game day.

The extended full highway and ramp closures for pavement replacement work will help to minimize the duration of the project and improve workers’ safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.

This project includes $47 million from Senate Bill (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. SB 1 provides $5 billion in transportation funding annually, shared equally between state and local agencies.
