SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (MPG) - Zac Barragan Reidt and Allie Nguyen captured overall titles in dramatic fashion at the 57th Sacramento County Junior Championship, held June 16 and 17 at Mather Golf Course.

Barragan Reidt claimed the Boys Overall Championship in a thrilling four-way playoff, edging out Kees Hoogendyk, last year’s champion, Everest Williams and Cooper Westphal. Hoogendyk, Williams and Tré Garza captured first, second and third, respectively, in the boys’ division for ages 16 through 18.

On the girls’ side, Nguyen also secured her Overall Girls title in a tightly-contested three-way playoff, finishing ahead of Lillian McGowan and Mia Cho. McGowan, Cho and Rayne Ripperger captured first, second and third, respectively, in the girls’ division for ages 16 through 18.

The overall champion comes from the 16-to-18 and 14-to-15-aged groups.

Additional flight winners included Cooper Westphal (Boys’ 14–15 Champion), Harrison Beinke (Boys’ 12–13 Champion), Medha Kotti (Girls’ 14–15 Champion) and Christina Choe (Girls’ 12–13 Champion).

The Sacramento County Junior Championship, now in its 57th year, is a premier event hosted by the Sacramento Golf Council, drawing top junior talent from across the region.

The tournament is open to boys and girls ages 12 through 18 and is contested in age-based divisions over 36 holes.

The 2025 event was directed by Nanci Smith of the Sacramento Golf Council. The nonprofit council’s mission is “to conduct and promote superior golf events at city and county golf courses in the Sacramento Metropolitan area for all interested golfers. Specific events are open to men and women of all ages and abilities, and juniors.”
