CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Miller’s Ace Hardware in Citrus Heights celebrated their two-year anniversary on Friday, June 27 with a special public commemorative ribbon cutting which also marked the success of their three-month fundraising campaign that raised over $10,000 for Make a Wish.

Representatives of the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce, the non-profit foundation Make a Wish, city leaders and representatives of area elected officials presented individual certificates of recognition to Jessica Rowell-Greenfield, owner/operator of Miller’s Ace Hardware for her service and what the business has come to mean to the local community.

“Our goal was to raise $10,000 to help grant a wish for a critically ill children here in Sacramento,” Rowell-Greenfield said. “And we succeeded.”

Rowell-Greenfield expressed pride in the generosity of her many customers who rounded up their purchases during the past three months to become “wish makers,” while helping to support World Wish Month and Make a Wish.

One special “Wish Kid”, Ava, who benefitted from some of the funds raised, also attended the morning celebration.

Earlier this spring, Miller’s Ace Hardware was an event sponsor and supporter of the 2025 multi-community “Big Day of Service” volunteer event held in Citrus Heights, Orangevale and Fair Oaks on May 17.

Miller’s Ace Hardware, which employs adults and youth with cognitive disabilities, is named after Rowell-Greenfield’s son, Miller, who has faced and has overcome multiple neurological challenges to become a thriving young adult. He was also a Make-A-Wish recipient as a young child.

“Our customers come to value the high level of service and welcome they receive here from our store personnel when they shop,” Rowell-Greenfield said.

It’s a role Miller enjoys fulfilling as well. He had just finished helping another Ace customer with a purchase before coming to the front of the store in time to proudly help cut the celebratory anniversary ribbon.

Miller’s Ace Hardware at 8077 Madison Ave. in Citrus Heights is located across the street from the Fair Oaks Library. Store hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
