First Responders Honored on National Day of Service

Daughters of the American Revolution members delivered treats to Citrus Heights Metro Fire Station 23 on Oct. 18, the annual National Day of Service.
CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - On Oct. 18, the General John A. Sutter Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) celebrated the annual Daughters of the American Revolution Day of Service by honoring local first responders. Members delivered sweet treats to the Citrus Heights Police Department and Metro Fire Stations 21 and 23, expressing gratitude for their dedication and service to the community.
The Daughters of the American Revolution Day of Service is observed nationwide, with chapters participating in a variety of community service projects that reflect the organization’s mission of historic preservation, education and patriotism.
This year, local efforts included cleaning historic cemeteries, maintaining Daughters of the American Revolution properties, supporting veterans and assisting with food banks, schools and public servants.
The date commemorates the founding of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1890, celebrating 135 years of service and commitment to communities across the country.
