CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - The City of Citrus Heights has recognized the Byers Gymnastics Center, with locations in Citrus Heights, Roseville and Rocklin, as the recipient of its inaugural quarterly “Business of Distinction” award.
The award was presented to representatives of the Byers Gymnastics Center at 7700 Sunrise Blvd. by city communications officer Marisa Brown at the recent State of the City address held at Citrus Heights City Hall.
In all, some 30 local businesses were nominated for the inaugural Business of Distinction Award. The city intends to present a Business of Distinction award each quarter, with each nomination cycle highlighting a new theme.
“The nominations and selections are tailored to celebrate different strengths of our business community,” Brown said. “The award is a shared expression of gratitude for the businesses that make daily life in Citrus Heights a better place to live and work.”
The recent award theme of “Civic Heights” recognizes the Byers Gymnastics Center as a business which makes “Citrus Heights stronger by living out its core values, demonstrating the shared values of diversity, innovation, integrity, teamwork, respect, responsive customer service, and trust.”
“Byers Gymnastics Center has helped Citrus Heights children build confidence, strength, and a lifelong love for movement. From the moment kids start walking through their high school years, Byers provides a supportive space for both recreational and competitive athletes to grow,” Brown said in her remarks prior to the start of the State of the City address.
“The Byers team believes gymnastics is the foundation of all sports: teaching strength, flexibility, coordination and focus that benefit children far beyond the gym. Their programs are designed not just to develop physical ability, but to instill discipline, teamwork, and self-assurance,” Brown said. “Beyond the gym floor, Byers is deeply woven into the Citrus Heights community. Each year they participate in events like the Sunday Funday event and they host activities such as Toddler Time, Parents’ Night Out and birthday celebrations, all centered around creating joyful opportunities for families to connect.”
“Through their commitment to quality instruction, responsive service, and a welcoming environment, Byers Gymnastics Center continues to make a lasting impact on hundreds of local families and reflects the spirit and values that make Citrus Heights strong,” Brown said.
A local representative from Byers Gymnastics did not respond to a request for further comment concerning the recent award.
“The city of Citrus Heights is proud to recognize the businesses that make our community stronger. Local businesses not only drive our economy but they also embody the values, innovation, and resilience that define our city,” Brown said.
In 2026, future quarterly award themes for the city’s next Business of Distinction award include “Legacy Business,” “Top of the Trade” and “Blight to Bright.”
