CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) – Colorful dragon dancers and the pounding beat of traditional Asian drummers helped set the scene for a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome Gateway Nails & Spa to the Copperwood shopping plaza in Citrus Heights.
Shop owner, Christina Truong, welcomed family, friends and community members to the afternoon celebration which was hosted by the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Once the bright red celebratory ribbon was cut, the crackling sound of firecrackers lit for good luck filled the air.
Afternoon customers reclined comfortably in spa chairs inside while the ribbon cutting ceremony took place just outside as they enjoyed a calming afternoon of pampering including an aromatic foot soak before a relaxing pedicure.
At multiple other workstations, manicurists artfully tended to the application of colorful gel and acrylic colors.
Truong was also honored with three official certificates of recognition including one presented by Citrus Heights Mayor MariJane Lopez-Taff, another from state Assemblymember Josh Hoover’s office and a third from Sacramento Supervisor Rosario Rodriguez’s office.

The salon offers expert nail services and relaxing spa treatments including manicures, pedicures, gel, dipping, acrylic, waxing and eyelash extensions.
Gateway Nails and Spa welcomed its first customers earlier last week in a soft opening.
Truong expressed her gratitude for the support of everyone who came out to celebrate and thanked everyone for their support.
