CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) – Owner Jasprit Kaur and her family cut a celebratory red ribbon last week, acknowledging the ongoing success of their franchise restaurant, West Coast Sourdough after nearly two years in business in Citrus Heights.
The ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce, included the presentation of certificates of recognition from state and local officials, including Citrus Heights Mayor MariJane Lopez-Taff. Members of the Citrus Heights Police Department including Chief Alex Turcotte were also on hand to extend their good wishes.

The Citrus Heights location of franchise restaurant West Coast Sourdough is family-owned, said Jasprit Kaur who recognized all those who took time to mark the special occasion and each of member of her customer service team who greet their customers each business day, pour their coffee and make each sandwich with pride and care.
The 2,400-square-foot sandwich restaurant at 6920 Auburn Blvd., Suite 150 in Stock Ranch across from an Applebee’s restaurant is family-owned, said Jasprit Kaur who recognized all those who took time to mark the special occasion and each of member of her customer service team who greet their customers each business day, pour their coffee and make each sandwich with pride and care.
“I’m especially grateful for the support of all our customers who have helped contribute to our success, and to the local community which has made us feel a welcome,” she said.
Seth Just, regional director of operations for West Coast Sourdough said the Citrus Heights store, which opened in November 2024, has been doing brisk business since opening day.
Much of that specific success may be attributed to the restaurant’s close proximity to Costco and Walmart superstores in the Stock Ranch plaza which continues to attract a substantial early morning shopping crowd before doors open for morning coffee, Just said.

The Stock Ranch restaurant is about twice the size of a typical West Coast Sourdough store and offers a combination of sandwiches and Peet’s Coffee to its customers.
The company struck a partnership in 2023 with Peet’s Coffee, based in Berkeley, to sell its coffee and coffee-style beverages in all its new locations, beginning with Citrus Heights.
The interior of the restaurant features plenty of tables that feature the company’s bright red Golden Gate Bridge logo which includes the name of the restaurant, against a light blue-green sky background.
West Coast Sourdough, founded in 2020, serves sandwiches, soups and salads. The menu also includes gourmet salads, daily New England Clam Chowder, Tomato Bisque and a rotating selection of soups. A variety of hot and cold sourdough sandwiches – and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are offered.
