CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Residents of Citrus Heights and surrounding communities will have three opportunities this spring to enjoy live music, food and family-friendly fun as Sunrise MarketPlace launches the Backyard Bash Spring Band Series at the MarketPlace at Birdcage.
The free community event will take place on three evenings this spring from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., transforming the outdoor space behind Jamba Juice at 6061 Sunrise Boulevard into a relaxed backyard-style gathering space filled with live entertainment and local flavor.
The series features three popular local cover bands performing across three dates including Aces on April 3, Department of Rock on April 17 and Hack Attack on May 1.
Each event will offer more than just music. Guests can enjoy food trucks, adult backyard games such as Cornhole and Giant Jenga and a beer and wine garden hosted by the Citrus Heights Rotary Club. The event is designed to be welcoming for all ages, making it an ideal evening outing for families, friends and neighbors looking to enjoy spring evenings together.
The Backyard Bash Spring Series is part of Sunrise MarketPlace’s ongoing effort to bring engaging community programming to the district while supporting local businesses and strengthening the area’s identity as a hub for entertainment, dining and connection.
Organizers say the event series will be supported by a comprehensive marketing and engagement strategy designed to increase awareness and bring more visitors into the district. Promotions will utilize digital platforms, social media and print outreach to highlight participating businesses and encourage attendees to explore the Sunrise MarketPlace before and after the concerts.
The series also aims to reinforce Sunrise MarketPlace as a central gathering place for the Citrus Heights community. By featuring local bands, regional food vendors and interactive experiences, the events celebrate the unique character and energy of the city while creating opportunities for residents to connect.
Local businesses throughout the district will also be encouraged to participate through cross-promotions and special offers to help drive additional foot traffic during the events.
“Events like the Backyard Bash series help create a vibrant sense of place,” organizers said. “It’s about bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and giving the community a reason to come out and enjoy Citrus Heights.”
Community members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, invite friends and neighbors, and come ready to enjoy an evening of live music, food and springtime fun.
