CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - A new Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) store opened this week with a grand opening celebration scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 6.

Workers finished building out interior shelving and staging inventory within the 18,168-square-foot space at 6100 Birdcage Center which was previously occupied by Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse which closed in January in the MarketPlace at Birdcage after 20 years in business.

Display window signage showed a soft public opening was scheduled to be held Thursday, June 4.

Representatives from DSW's parent company, Designer Brands Inc., did not respond to a request for comment at press time regarding the planned grand opening which was publicized on social media.

DSW based in Columbus, Ohio, is owned by Designers Brands, Inc. and sells an assortment of shoes for men, women and children.

DSW is known for stocking discounted name brands alongside private labels and frequent promotions. The retailer has at least four other locations in the Sacramento area, including Arden Way, the Fountains at Roseville and in the Folsom Gateway.

The Marketplace at Birdcage is anchored by Old Navy, ULTA and Walmart, and it sits within the larger Sunrise Market Place District.
