The new Heights of Brazil restaurant is replacing the former Wasabi House Japanese restaurant across from the Sunrise Mall which closed in 2024.

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Dining options in the city of Citrus Heights are about to get a little “spicier” with the opening of Heights of Brazil, a new Brazilian restaurant opening soon in the Greenback Square shopping center near Greenback Lane and Fair Oaks Boulevard.

Heights of Brazil is replacing the former Wasabi House Japanese restaurant across from the Sunrise Mall which closed in 2024.

The restaurant’s exterior recently received a fresh repaint and bright new green signage is now in place. Colorful lower panels have been installed surround the restaurant illustrating some of the popular Brazilian dishes customers can soon expect.

Heights of Brazil will fill a prominent 2,400-square-feet vacancy in a stand-alone building in Greenback Square, according to recent leasing materials from commercial real estate brokerage JLL of Sacramento.

The 46,164 square foot Greenback Square is home to two other restaurants, Royal Indian Cuisine and a Mongolian BBQ. Within the plaza, JLL is looking to fill nine additional vacancies.

Brazilian cuisine is a vibrant mix of flavors, featuring hearty stews, fire-roasted meats, seafood and sweet treats that reflect the country’s diverse cultural heritage.

The city of Roseville is also currently home to two Brazilian restaurants, Fogo de Chao and the Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse.

Posted business hours are listed as Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., reopening from 4:30 to 9 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Tuesday.

Wednesday through Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., reopening from 4:30 to 9 p.m. for dinner.

Additional details about the incoming restaurant are not yet available. Representatives of the restaurant and commercial real estate brokers representing the shopping center couldn't be reached for comment.
