Dear Citrus Heights Community,

This summer, the City Council unanimously approved the Fiscal Year 2026/27 budget. As we carry out that budget, I am pleased to share this Budget in Brief: a clear look at the choices behind our investments and the priorities guiding our work.

A good budget reflects good decisions made over time. We look beyond the year ahead, consider the long-term cost of each commitment and preserve the flexibility to respond when circumstances change. This year’s balanced budget maintains healthy reserve levels while continuing to support the services residents expect. Careful planning gives us the ability to make decisions based on what is right for Citrus Heights.

We are putting that approach into practice. The City continues its $4 million annual General Fund investment in infrastructure, improving more streets while pursuing grants that extend our local dollars. At the same time, we are protecting public safety and essential services, while welcoming private investment that will strengthen our economy. 

This brochure shows how careful financial decisions support the work happening across our city. I hope you will join us for the State of the City on November 5, when we will share what Citrus Heights accomplished in 2026 and look ahead to the opportunities taking shape.
