CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - As part of California’s tenth annual Water Professionals Appreciation Week, Oct. 3-11, Citrus Heights Water District (CHWD) is proud to recognize the dedicated professionals who help provide safe, reliable water to our community every day.
For over 105 years, CHWD has been honored to serve our community. Today, we provide water to about two-thirds of the City of Citrus Heights and portions of Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Carmichael and Roseville.
“Our employees are the people behind the water service our 70,000 customers depend on,” said CHWD Board President Caryl Sheehan. “Their expertise and commitment to CHWD’s mission help ensure we can continue providing safe, quality water today and for generations to come.”
Delivering dependable water service takes a team. Our dedicated professionals bring a wide range of expertise across field operations, water quality, construction inspection, engineering, finance, customer service, IT, communications and more. Together, our people and the skills they bring play an essential role in keeping our water systems running smoothly.
Here is a snapshot of CHWD by the numbers: 20,000-plus water service connections; 12.8 square miles served; 253 miles of pipe owned and maintained; 2,174 fire hydrants owned and maintained; 3.9 billion gallons of water delivered annually; 1,000-plus water quality samples collected annually; and four active wells, plus two more under construction.
Much of the work behind reliable water service happens around the clock and behind the scenes. Our water professionals are there every day, keeping water flowing so our community can focus on what matters most.
Throughout Water Professionals Appreciation Week, we’ll highlight some of the people and careers that help make reliable water possible. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Nextdoor, and visit chwd.org to learn more.
