CITRUS HEIGHTS , CA (MPG) - Last week’s annual Zest Fest, co-sponsored by the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce and the city of Citrus Heights held at the Citrus Heights Event Center helped bring together a wide range of local business owners, entrepreneurs, civic organizations and community leaders for a special day of networking, shopping and connection.

Open to the public, the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Where Business Gets a Little Zest” Business Expo, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 and attracted steady foot traffic throughout the day.

Many enjoyed sandwiches provided by Beach Hut Deli as they stopped by each booth to learn more about the participating business and community groups which contribute to the vitality of the city.

The special annual event which was held in a large conference room, just off the main lobby of the Citrus Heights Event Center featured a variety of exhibitors, including representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Messenger Publishing Group (MPG), the city of Citrus Heights, Bright & Sparkly Cleaning Service, Republic Services, National University, Sunrise Recreation and Parks District, Beach Hut Deli, Kiwanis Club of Citrus Heights, Miller’s Ace Hardware, Sweet Music Studio Café, Citrus Heights Rotary Club, Playmakers Charity Golf Tournament, Full Color Banners, Five Star Accounting, Crumbl cookies, just to name a few.

The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce also shared information about Citrus Heights Business Watch, a new citywide partnership connecting Citrus Heights businesses with the Chamber, city, and Citrus Heights Police Department (CHPD) to strengthen communication, awareness and collaboration.

Through Citrus Heights Business Watch, businesses can come together regularly to share concerns, identify trends, receive timely information, and connect directly with resources that can help address issues impacting the city’s business community, according to the Chamber.

In 2025, the name of the former Citrus Heights Community Center itself was changed to the Citrus Heights Event Center to better reflect the facility’s multi-purpose role as a regionally recognized venue for various public and private events, according to the city.

The center has four active public volunteers, down from 10 several years ago, and many more are still needed to assist with a growing calendar of monthly community events.

General information about the Citrus Heights Event Center and current volunteer opportunities were provided at the city’s booth at the event.
